This weekend, August 7 – 8, YWAM Northwoods is hosting the “Set Apart” Conference at their campus near Chetek in Wisconsin.
The conference is meant to help break down denominational and generational walls by emphasising “being real and vulnerable with one another”.
It goes from Friday at 2:00 – late Saturday night. The conference has been planned by many youth in the area and includes pastors from various churches around the area as speakers during the weekend.
You can read more about the “Set Apart” conference here.
As we look at how to best communicate what is happening around the world with YWAM we want to look at as many different options as possible. YWAM has had an online presence for many years,
There are quite a few YWAM audio shows available from individual locations around the world (we did a YWAM Podcast in Townsville for quite a number of years). I have listened to many of these podcasts and they do a great job in communicating what is happening at the local level, but as far as I’ve seen there is no podcast out there communicating what is happening in Youth With A Mission as a whole.
Collecting the new from around the world for YWAM can be quite a challenge, so it would be hard to cover everything that is happening around Youth With A Mission, but I wonder if people would be interested in hearing what news we are able to gather.
To gauge the interest in a YWAM News Podcast I’ve put together a small survey. There are only four questions, and it should only take about 2-minutes, but your input would be very valuable. Thanks …
I got this e-mail from the base director at Reef to Outback in Townsvillle, Australia. We had been talking for years about birthing a ship ministry out of YWAM Australia, and it is very close to coming together. You can read some of the latest developments below:
Recently I had an historic trip to Papua New Guinea, Mike Reynolds (who seems to refuse retirement, even after his official retirement as the Speaker for the Legislative Assembly of Queensland commenced late last month) returned to Port Moresby earlier this week, accompanied by representatives from the YWAM Australia & PNG Ship Tour, Rebekah Hoover and Hannah Peart.
The trip, which served to strengthen both the recent twinning relationship between the PNG National Parliament and the Queensland National Parliament and the Sister City relationship between Townsville and Port Moresby, was very successful. Over 100 bikers gathered in Kidron, Ohio, USA where they held the annual Blessing of the Bikes, which is a charity fund-raiser for the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio.
The fund-raiser included a ride through the local counties, group and individual prayer for the people who were there, live entertainment and a chicken barbecue. They also auctioned off a 1998 Harley Sportster 883, with all the proceeds going to Youth With A Mission.
In addition to raising money the event also gives people who are searching a safe place where they can ask questions.
You can read more about the fund-raiser and the donation of the Harley here.
